Comics

You can now buy paper copies of whatever I have in print through Etsy.

My partner Nicole and I are working on a weekly webcomic called Time Wounds All Heels; check it out!

My last webcomic, the short-lived Are We Not Batmen? was a mashup of classic newspaper strips and Devo lyrics. You can read it from the beginning (not that there is a narrative at all) at http://arewenotbatmen.wordpress.com/2011/02/08/10/.

Feel free to download and enjoy the following PDFs of some of my old comics. The comics are all Copyright (c) 1991-2012 by Scott Marshall. All rights reserved.

The DIY Comic – I made this for my son’s book club as an activity. It’s a PDF of a blank 8-page comic plus pages of word balloons, special effect lettering, and caption boxes. The writing and drawing is up to you. Use the page templates in whatever order you want, then photocopy or bind them together. Trim lines are provided for the standard comic book size.

Please note that most of these old comics are not suitable for young children. Viewer discretion is advised. ;)

Dregs, Part 1 – pages from mini-comics that I did at the beginning of my “career”, almost 20 years ago in some cases. The drawing is rough but some of the jokes still work. Download PDF or CBR.

Dregs, Part 2 – More of the ’90s comics, as I shifted from mini comics to a magazine sized format. The art is somewhat more bearable.

Relativity – a mini-comic about time and space, circa 1995.

Stolen Car – adaptation of a favourite song by the Rheostatics.

You’re Not Fooling Anyone – inspired by the Columbine high school shootings.

Comics for Coalfish – editorial cartoons I made for a local news website a few years ago.
